استبعد مروجو سباق جائزة سنغافورة الكبرى ضمن بطولة العالم لسباقات الفورمولا 1 للسيارات، إقامة السباق خلف أبواب مغلقة، مما يلقي بمزيد من الغموض حول إمكانية تنظيم السباق في سبتمبر/أيلول المقبل.

وتخطط الفورمولا 1 لبدء الموسم المؤجل في يوليو/تموز المقبل، بإقامة سباقات في النمسا وبريطانيا خلف أبواب مغلقة، في ظل استمرار أزمة فيروس كورونا.

لكن البطولة لم تستبعد بعد إمكانية عودة الجمهور للحلبات في وقت لاحق من العام الحالي.

ونقلت صحيفة ذا ستريتس تايمز، الصادرة في سنغافورة، عن مروجي السباق، أنهم يجرون حوارًا مفتوحًا مع البطولة، لكنهم أكدوا أنه من غير الممكن إقامة السباق خلف أبواب مغلقة.

وقال متحدث باسم المروجين “على رأس الأولويات تأتي دومًا سلامة وصحة مشجعينا والمتطوعين وجميع مواطني سنغافورة”.

وأضاف “أي عمل في العادة يتطلب إنجازه 3 أشهر، وهذا سيعتمد على مدى إمكانية القيام بمثل هذه الأنشطة في ظل الإجراءات الحكومية المطبقة حاليًا”.

وفي سباق سنغافورة العام الماضي، شاهد السباق نحو 268 ألف شخص على مدار الأيام الثلاثة، بينما بلغت نسبة الأجانب في هذا الرقم 40%.

وبلغ عدد الإصابات في سنغافورة بفيروس كورونا المستجد، نحو 27 ألف حالة.
